Too late round my way, not a drone to be seen.

Cazza

Just checked the other hives and there still drones waiting to hatch.
Gonna have to keep doing weekly inspections as they are all still so full its crazy. Ivy is in full flow as well.

I have drone brood and was watching many going off today. No problem with drones my way.

 Wow!

Who will win the prize for the latest swarm of 2014?

Well here on Heat Island, if they didn't swarm yesterday they'll never swarm.

I reckon the next big issue from this super-long season is going to be varroa and that one way or another there will be fewer non-treaters, which is a shame. Hopefully not and good luck guys and gals but despite biotechnical methods (and I admit I am in experienced), there is no way my colonies will make it to spring without help.

Even more frenetic today, with the hives roaring from first thing. Was that the night shift still ripening? Then later entrance congestion and bearding. The calendar say almost October! must get a new one, this old one seems faulty.
