Very interesting, thank you very much for sharing.

These are really great pictures - should be a sticky in the beginners section. I'm looking forward to your next posting.

Next set of photos

1.The inside of a honey cell, as seen through the clear crownboard.
2.Bee above Marsh Mallow plant covered in pollen from that flower.
3.Bee on lavender flower.
4.Really strong hives with supers stacked 5-6 high.

Extraction time

1.Rhombus clearer boards in place on hives
2.Full combs in the supers
3.Second load of supers on their way to the extraction room
4.Honey straining from a double strainer into the bucket bellow
5.First stage filtering direct from extractor before being passed through a double strainer. (Note all floor surfaces covered!)

It's been a while!
Whilst on holiday I have finally spotted a bee house (beehaus) or too.

1st beehaus with space for approx 30 colonies!

And then I stumbled upon a mobile version even higher up the mountains!

They are beautiful.
Beecraft cover?
Where are they?

They are at an altitude of approx 1200m in the Swiss mountains.
I would love to meet the local beekeeper and have a tour but I'm afraid there is snow here from December - April most years so I guess they will not be very active till then!

A few from the last 2 weeks:

1. A super frame filling with Nectar / Honey
2. A pretty full frame of sealed brood.

Hmm not sure what has happened to the attachments in my older posts!

All the thumbnails prior to post 31 are not present or active for me, but 31 and following are fine. Anyone any idea why? Are you going to put them all in your web gallery?

I've started trying to sort the ones I posted and add them to my gallery.

More will be added when I get the time!
