Don't confuse CCD with other, known, causes for bees dying and hives failing. I lost a colony two winters ago, because of the hard winter and late spring. That sort of loss is not what beekeepers mean when we talk about CCD. Likewise losses caused by spraying and neonics are not to be confused with CCD.
If your work is to have any validity you need to ensure that you know what CCD is at the outset. It's something peculiar to parts of the USA, but lazy journalists in the UK are always ready to plunder American experiences in an effort to generate a sensationalist article (for further information on lazy journalism, see "Daily Mail").
