Could we list some golden rules of beekeeping to help the new beekeepers on their way. Simple one sentence replies and admin could delete replies when necessary.
I'll start with;
Always make sure bees have stores

ALWAYS check your zips are fastened securely. A bee buzzing within your veil is an experience : one you will not wish to repeat!

Read this forum before you buy your bees..and other kit.

Handle them quietly, carefully and with confidence .. if you bang them about or squash bees they will reward you with pings and stings.

Accept that you will get stung occasionally ... be prepared, if you haven't been stung before, to have a reaction. In the early days ensure you have someone on hand or a sound means of communicating with help.

learn how to clap your hands quickly and stop flapping your arms about.

Appropriate for this year especially...

Read your bees and the conditions rather than the date on the calendar !
