Ha! I had people wanting a far bigger cut –-for me to sell at £4 or less a lb and they then sell it at around £7.

Didn't take me long to realise I don't need distribution when I can sell everything from my front door and if I want to push out more, I could attend a table sale or such like.

Our local Honey Coop sells at £5.50 for 12 oz retail and £4.15 wholesale per jar. That gives shops a 32% markup if they sell at £5.50.

Just seen some from a local supplier at £5.50 for a 340g hexagonal jar. Mind sells for £5 per lb, and even at that I've heard the Yorkshire war cry 'How much?'.
