Hi. one of my hives just took off but i could catch it, it was so high that i didnt get all down but doubt i got the queen. i caught more than half (huge swarm) and they are fanning. i hope they will all get into the box.

but i dont have a place three miles away to put them. can anybody help me? i am in islington near tufnell park

Yes, 3 miles rule is if you are moving bees to new site.
Put your swarm hive wherever you want... 3ft from original. If you don't have queen you will soon know.. they may even go back to old hive.
But you probably do have her.
Was it very high.? Can you attach a drawn brood frame (some brood in it )to a long pole and leave near bees still in tree. They will go onto it, then you can lower to the ground.
