What did you do in the Apiary today?

Not too long actually, but much easier when they stay still!!

What did you do in the Apiary today?

I'm new so please be gentle if I've been an idiot, but might this be her? Towards the top left of the frame as it is in the photo.

    Embedding power source?

Not what I said, I think you have confused me explaining why RC hobbyists need a power supply. Either that, or I didn't explain it well! I was thinking about something like this https://www.align-trex.co.uk/fusion-100w-13-8v-power-supply-o-fs-ps101.html?gad_source=1

    Embedding power source?

Do you know how much current needs to flow through the wires to get them hot enough? This will determine the power output you need. If you look at radio control hobby stores, they often sell power supplies that are used to power the chargers for model's batteries. The chargers are designed to...

    Maybe they are vicious

I can only assume they don't want people thinking "oooh, that's a pretty plant" and collecting seeds/rooted plants to plant elsewhere.

Solar heated hives to reduce varroa

It makes sense to me that the bees would try to regulate the temperature in the hive. They would be, but also rain cooled!

    Attempted Hive Thefts

I've got a laser engraver that would do a lovely job of this. Line the pieces up before being built, I could do 20 in one go probably maybe more. I don't have any hives currently but if anyone local to me wants to experiment with some frames I'm happy to give it a go.

    Bees in Birmingham

Chanced upon this in the middle of Birmingham this afternoon. Fully walled off with perspex viewing windows. Didn't take a photo of the outer wall but it had info about the bees.

    Thoughts on this location?

Hi, the school is in Hagley. Kidderminster is where I live.

    Thoughts on this location?

Regrettably, we don't have equipment nor funds for that currently. This may be a naive thought, but might it possible that a local Beekeeper could put a couple of hives there temporarily??

Nice to see some bees on the brambles this morning. Both honey bees and bumble bees.

The view from the playing field to show the level difference.

    Thoughts on this location?

Something that is not obvious from the photos, this area is a couple of meters above the playing field level. The bramble you can see to the right of the fence is on a bank. Will that help keep flying bees above people?

    Thoughts on this location?

Oops yes. Fixed that. And yes, however they can go eithr side if the "corridor" so could possibly put the entrance facing away from the sports field.

    Thoughts on this location?

Previously posted as I'm looking to start bee keeping in the school I teach at. I'm hoping this is a good location for hives. The yellow area is where I'm proposing. It is fenced all round with a gate that can be locked. Surrounded by wild growth with a variety of plant species. The white...
