    just asked the wife to go and see what activity is happening at the hive, she said there are bees flying around and she now understands what i mean by bees taking pollen in, she saw around 7-10 bees with Red, yellow and white pollen on their legs going in the hive, should i do a hive inspection...

    I don't know what distance to keep the hives apart, if I leave 18" gap then 3 fit perfectly.

    I've used 3x3 timber as they were just not being used, i am now thinking of adding 2 more jacks for the middle support and add 2 more 4x2 timber for both ends, and another 3x3 in the middle length wise for for strengh, picked up the colony couple of hours ago and have placed the hive on the stand.
