hi weird situation after the snow last night . this morning there are about 50 dead bees who have come out after the snow and died -no further than 10 metres from hive. not the normal chucking out the dead. any idea?

Hi Tried going excluder-less this year and of 22 supers only 2 had brood in them ( and only about 2 inches worth at the bottom of the super). Whats other peoples experience ? Thanks B.

Hi, normally maybe 1/3 of the fruit actually mature -is there any benefit in reducing the number of young figs in Spring to trigger quicker growth in those left on the branches ? Thanks. B.

hi tried twice now making fondant , but either get a thick clear Gel or a hard clear Crystal , never get the white thick consistency of purchased stuff. Any advice or a good recipe? Thanks B.

Hi, Following harvest, I notice uneven levels of wax in many supers . Will the bees naturally level off the wax levels next year or should I scrape the wax off , down to the plastic foundation base ? Example attached. Thanks B.

Hi My introduced queen has eaten out of the fondant box within the 3 frame swarm Nuc i added her to, I Couldnt spot her today but hear a distinct localised "drumming " from inside . Is this likely to be her ? Thanks B.

Managed to catch first swarm in one of the Chinese black Swarm bags with an old Super shoved inside. its now a Nuc covering 2 frames but cant identify a queen in there at present . how many days will it take for the Bees to start a Queen cell if required ? Thanks B.

Hi needed to move Bees from a Nuc to a new hive about 40 metres away and as expected about 100 have flown back to the old spot . I have left the empty nuc for them for today - how can i encourage them to stay in their new home ? Thanks B.

Hi, Ive successfully made my first split from a colony using 1 frame brood, 1 food ,plus a new queen. Would like to do another but based on my location in the South UK ,is there a cut off Month when there is a high risk the new colony wont grow enough before Winter? Thanks B
