    Heather 2018

    Italian Queen bee Strain

    Apis Milifara Ligustica was a strain I had, very hungry! They didn't over winter well on single national even with a super! They did best on double broods. Good temperament though and a good yield from them, just weren't for me, I favoured the Carpathian strain of carniolan. A

    IMO it's no where near warm enough for Apiguard! As already stated oxalic acid vaporization is probably your best option and sooner rather than later while they don't have too much brood. A

    Tradex - Perrycroft Bees

    I think the paper would help stop the wax from being brittle and shattering. If you've ever made a thin sheet and let it cool completely you'll know it's very prone to cracking when bent even slightly.

    Would you live with your bees???

    I used to have an observation hive, a great conversation piece! I really enjoyed using it and studying the bees, especially when they came to swarming, I caught them right in the act once ( perposly let them swarm) and I thought they were all going when the swarm left the hive. I caught them...

    I've always used Apiguard but as I can't get hold of the buckets anymore I think I'm going to try Apivar most and Maqs on a handful as a comparison as I've used Maqs before but it's expensive
