Hi. With polyhives being significantly more expensive than wooden seconds at the moment, I am wondering if the polyhives would make up that cost difference in producing more honey. I have read that they can produce up to 15% more honey compared to a colony in wood that has similar variables...

I have a barbour wax jacket. It looks nice and ok to wear for 10 minute walk to the pub but I have no idea what other use they are good for due to the reasons you say. In winter you sweat and get cold, in summer you sweat and get poached. Stylish but useless

I did have a look to see what it looked like with frames in centre. It looked a little more than a beespace on each side but I'll definitely try it out

I've been building langstroth boxes. They are 10 frame boxes but seem to have extra space that is more than a beespace? I'll need to make some dummy boards now.

How do you warm your honey if you have quite a lot of buckets? One at a time in a honey cabinet? I have an oven that can be set to 40c but I am wincing at the potential electricity bill for the amount of hours it will need.
