    +1 to the above comment severe chemical burns/incidents are best avoided, for personal safety let alone the disruption it can cause to a marriage! Especially when there is a safer option which can work well and is cheaply available.

    Ooo maths problem. You'd need to convert the energy for both to the same unit. Any idea of the calories it takes a bee hive to draw one frame out? Then it would be possible to compare the effort to clean the frames by heat and water. I don't know the calorific value of drawing a frame out..
