I have only ever used Manley frames for my supers, I like them, not found that much of a problem with bees gluing them together, but then I haven't got anything to compare to. I suppose the comb could carry some disease in with it if coming from another their apiary?

My bees are up to mischief, queen cells, have done AS and also one of my hives swarmed which I have then recaught- so must have missed a QC. These two hives- the queens are related-caught from previous swarms last year-feel like they are more swarmy than my other hives!

Hey,this is my first season - I extracted capped honey in June which set in a matter of weeks, and I extracted some more honey in July which again was capped, this is very runny and is still not setting yet. I was taking it that if the bees have capped it then that was all good! Tastes...

That's good to hear, as my bees are in the same boat as LeB, and I have started to see play cups, so was thinking about posting the same and seeing what people's thoughts were for inspections and the weather! :thanks:

This may be a very daft question....I will ask it anyway...but could you theoretically try and artificially swarm/ split that box again?? Just wondering....?

Had a good inspection yesterday, was taking photos and the bees were really chilled out, apart from at the end when I put the last frame back, and then a whole line of them stuck their beehinds in the air and buzzed a lot and stood there like that. Was it because I annoyed them and they saw me...

Woohoo! Found my queen bee and filmed her laying an egg! Have only had my colony for about 4 weeks, so am most excited about it!
