They dont make my saw now but this is what i have. Will run a dado up to 1-3/16" wide. A solid table saw is the heart of a workshop.

Knocked together a jig to mill the taper in side bars. Volume warning. table saw and dust collector running sorry. The dado blade is whats making that whining sound.
Turning 2x8's into side bars for mating nucs, still have to mill the taper into the sides. Also milled the top and bottom bars from 2x8's since they were handy and cheap.
Its southern yellow pine. Im in the US. There is a bridge tie mill close by that you can get bundles about that size of 1" thick material thats waste in their process for about a hundred dollars.
Heres my pile thats been air drying for a year or so. Power company cut trees in my neighbors yard and a neighbor down the street has a portable saw mill. All i had to do was buck it to length and help stack.
You will like the double nuc / resource hive setup. I typically drop 2 swarms in them and let them build up to 4 over 4 then a Queen excluder and super them in common. I have had them draw and fill 3-4 supers.
I had a hacked together bee vac made with a dewalt battery vac but it was a pain. I now have this https://www.allmybees.com/store/p10/Professional_Model_Everything_Bee_Vacuum.html
Its fantastic.
