Less the price of frames and foundation as well, seems pretty decent if you're not lucky enough to know someone giving swarms away, it's not like the reply is hiding what they're offering.

Post #63, if you want compensation be prepared for regulations.
All primary food producers should be regulated, it's in the public interest, I'm surprised beekeepers have got off so lightly for so long.
Maybe they would get compensation if everyone filled in the survey as there would be more funding available... ;)

Other livestock food producing farmers don't get payments from maff (or what ever their current name is) as you put it so why should bee keepers.
